PROJECT ARCHITECT

This is a technically focused role suited to someone who thrives in the details. You’ll lead project documentation, perform complex code analysis, guide junior staff, and contribute to our internal QA/QC process across a range of commercial and institutional projects.
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of professional architectural experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
Licensure preferred (or active pursuit)
LEED accreditation a plus
Strong technical design skills and command of code compliance
Expertise in building envelope and material detailing
Experience overseeing and mentoring junior team members
Familiarity with permitting processes and coordination with AHJs
Your Responsibilities
Lead the development of construction documents, with a focus on constructibility and clarity
Perform complex code analysis across jurisdictions, with attention to accessibility, egress, and life safety
Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and permitting authorities
Participate in and contribute to office-wide QA/QC processes
Review junior staff documentation and offer feedback and mentorship
Support construction administration with sharp attention to RFIs, submittals, and field conditions
Key Skills and Tools
Technical & Detailing
High proficiency in detailing across varied material systems (e.g., wood, metal, concrete, envelope transitions)
Building code fluency (IBC, ANSI 117.1, energy code, accessibility standards)
Experience with City of Portland and other regional jurisdictions a plus
Software
Revit expertise required
Proficiency with GSuite, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite
Project & Team Leadership
Accountable and self-directed with strong time management skills
Clear communicator and collaborative problem-solver
Comfortable leading redlines, checking others’ work, and sharing best practices
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $90,000–$110,000, depending on experience and licensure
